Preventing diabetes

Are you hoping to prevent type 2 diabetes? If so, start by taking our monthly Diabetes Prevention class. It doesn’t require a physician’s referral and covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • Eating healthy and losing weight.
  • How to stay physically active.
  • What you should know about medications.
  • And much more.

When and where

Our Diabetes Prevention class is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in our Disease Management Clinic at 77 W. Forest Ave., Suite 202, Flagstaff, AZ.

What it costs

There’s a $20 fee for the Diabetes Prevention class, payable at the beginning of the class.

How to register

To register, call Flagstaff Medical Center’s Diabetes Education office at 928-639-6565. Leave your name, address and telephone number and we’ll contact you. If you’re testing your blood sugar at home, please bring your meter and any recorded results to class.
