Exploring specialty care for children

Pediatric specialty clinics

We specialize in caring for children with complex medical conditions requiring a multidisciplinary care team. Our board-certified physicians provide expert care and treat a variety of conditions including but not limited to:

Audiology

Newborn and pediatric patients will be tested by a clinical doctorate prepared audiologist who is certified by the American Speech Hearing Association. The hearing test offered includes natural sleep ABR diagnostic testing. Connection to hearing aids is also available.

Autism

Patients aged two to 18 with autism concerns, ADOS-2 assessment and autism diagnosis will be seen by a pediatric nurse practitioner, neonatologist and pediatric neurologist to establish Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) eligibility.

Cardiology

Patients with congenital heart disease, murmurs, cardiomyopathy, lipid disorders, heart rhythm disorders, fainting and other cardiac-related concerns will be seen by a pediatric cardiologist. A pediatric echocardiogram tech performs echocardiograms onsite.

Developmental Pediatrics

Patients who are 0-6 years of age with developmental delays, high risk/medically fragile infants born premature or exposed to substances in utero, and other various concerns with development and behavior will be seen by a neonatologist or PNP.

ENT (with audiology)

Patients with chronic ear infections, hearing loss and a variety of other ENT conditions are seen by an otolaryngologist. Audiology services are also available.

Feeding Therapy

Patients needing a continuum of feeding therapies may be seen by a speech language pathologist, occupational therapist, pediatric nutritionist, social worker, and/or pediatric nurse practitioner, depending on needs. Our transdisciplinary evaluation will guide decisions for therapy services that will best meet the needs of child and family. Our team has been trained in a variety of methodologies including but not limited to: SOS®, SOFFI®, TrEAT® and Shaker® approaches to feeding. Our child and family-centered multidisciplinary approach is available for patients aged birth-childhood.

Gastroenterology (with nutrition/RD)

Patients with celiac, abdominal pain, chronic constipation/diarrhea, IBD, neurogenic bowel program, severe reflux, chronic vomiting, underweight, congenital anomalies of the GI tract and other various GI concerns are seen by a pediatric gastroenterologist. Nutritionist and registered dietician services are also available.

Neurology

Patients with cerebral palsy, seizures, headache, developmental delay, tics, movement disorders, neurofibromatosis and various other neurological conditions are seen by a pediatric neurologist.

Neurosurgery

Patients with spinal cord concerns, spina bifida, synostosis, infants with head shape concerns, hydrocephalus, shunt care and other various brain and spinal cord concerns are seen by a pediatric neurosurgeon.

Nutritional Therapy

Patients birth through adolescence with feeding difficulties, weight issues, malnutrition, specialized diets, food allergies, tube feeds, digestive disorders and eating disorders will be seen by a registered dietitian who will provide medical nutrition therapy. Our registered dietitians are passionate about setting the stage for a lifelong healthy relationship with food and tailor their plan of care, education and counseling to the unique needs of each child and their family. They are able to address nutritional concerns that may arise from a variety of medical issues.

Occupational Therapy

Patients who need occupational therapy may have trouble moving, thinking, focusing, perceiving, or self- calming. They may have difficulty with things like eating, feeding, dressing themselves, playing, toileting, getting along with others, learning, or sleeping. Occupational therapists can help children by using play activities, special techniques, adaptations to the environment, special equipment and/or orthotics. They can assist patients to be able to do their everyday activities.

Orthopedics

Patients with scoliosis, hip dysplasia, congenital limb anomalies, cerebral palsy care of the MSK system, custom orthotics in clinic, foot and ankle problems and other various orthopedic concerns are seen by a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Hanger orthotics, physical therapy and occupational therapy are available.

Physical Therapy

Patients from birth to age 21 with sprains/strains, post fractures, overuse injuries, toe walking, cerebral palsy and spina bifida will be seen by a pediatric physical therapist. Our therapists can help with gross motor skills development; management of acute injuries and chronic conditions; post-operative care and rehabilitation and reduction of pain and prevention of injury.

Plastic surgery

Patients with cleft lip and palate, scar revision/care, burns and wounds, trauma reconstructions, ear and nasal anomalies, congenital hand and foot differences, hemangiomas and vascular malformations, skin lesions/growths, pediatric breast issues and other various plastic surgery needs are seen by a pediatric plastic surgeon.

Speech Therapy

Patients from birth-21 years of age with speech, language, cognition and/or social language needs will be seen by a speech therapist. Our therapists have received additional specialty trainings and can assist with speech sounds, language understanding and expression, social communication, fluency and feeding and swallowing. Therapists also work with caregivers to provide education for home implementation of skills addressed during therapy.

Urology

Patients with urinary tract infections, hypospadias, testicle disorders (undescended), hydronephrosis, bedwetting, daytime wetting, neurogenic bladder and other concerns with the urinary system will be seen by a pediatric urologist.

Wheelchair clinic

We work with NuMotion to help connect our patients with mobility devices including custom, manual, and power wheelchairs; walkers; gait trainers and crutches. We can help connect our patients to all terrain conversion (ATC) services. Pediatric physical therapy is available.

* Children may be eligible to be seen in this clinic through CRS or privately by referral from their primary care practitioner.
