Physician Residency Program
Verde Valley Medical Center is located in the beautiful rural setting of Cottonwood, Arizona. Our three-year Internal Medicine Residency program, the result of a partnership between Verde Valley Medical Center and Midwestern University, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Our program began in 2010 with four residents. With accreditation by the ACGME, we expanded from 12 residents (four per year) to 16 residents (six per year). The small size of the program, the camaraderie of the residents and the one-on-one time with supervising physicians make this a very attractive option to many candidates.

Nurse Residency Program
Northern Arizona Healthcare offers a standardized nurse residency program at Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center. The program is one of the largest in the Southwest United States, and has been awarded accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP®).
The Nurse Residency Program is a dedicated transition to practice program for nurses with less than one year of experience. We use this program to train international nurses and new to acute care RNs, i.e., those with prior experience as a home-health nurse, jail nurse or non-bedside nurse.

Pharmacy Residency Program
The Flagstaff Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program combines rigorous clinical training with personalized mentorship, dynamic rotations and immersive learning experiences—all set against the backdrop of our vibrant mountain town.
At Flagstaff Medical Center, residents will enjoy exposure to an extensive spectrum of patient populations and medical conditions.
