Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Darren Herzog, MD, has joined the Orthopedic & Spine Institute (OSI) in Flagstaff. Dr. Herzog is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in total joint replacement. He has extensive experience in total joint arthroplasty (replacement surgery) and revisions, sports-related knee treatment, and fracture care. He is accepting new patients now.

Dr. Herzog, who has over 12 years of experience in orthopedic care, believes in treating his patients as a whole person, with a goal of pursuing the perfect treatment outcome for his patients. His specialty focuses include, operative and nonoperative treatments for knee and hip arthritis; primary total knee arthroplasty; unicondylar (partial) knee arthroplasty; total hip arthroplasty with specific expertise in direct anterior approach; complex revision of total knee and total hip arthroplasty; evaluation and management of painful or failed prosthetic hip and knee; and prosthetic joint infection management.
Dr. Herzog earned his medical degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Detroit Medical Center through the Wayne State University residency program. He also completed an Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Arthroplasty Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
