Clinical laboratory services
Our certified medical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians and histotechnologists perform hundreds of thousands of tests each year. These include chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, infectious disease, and immunology studies, as well as tissue studies that help identify a variety of health concerns.
We test for many common infectious diseases and can often provide same-day results. Our skilled team and advanced technology help ensure highly accurate results so your provider can diagnose your condition and recommend the right care.
Pathology services
Northern Arizona Healthcare partners with Pathologist Associates of Northern Arizona (PANA). Together, we support physicians and other health care providers by examining blood, fluid and tissue specimens. Our pathology team uses advanced techniques such as special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and in situ hybridization (ISH) to help diagnose and manage diseases.
Blood services
Blood banks
We operate three blood banks that store more than 350 units of blood products at any given time, including red blood cells, plasma, platelets and cryoprecipitate. This enables us to perform all necessary inpatient transfusions.
Blood donations
Our ability to save lives depends on generous blood donors in our community. Coordinated through Vitalant, our blood drives happen regularly throughout northern Arizona.

Transfusion services
We provide complete transfusion services to our patients, including full blood type identification, compatibility testing and delivery of blood products. Our team supports emergency and massive transfusions, and we partner with Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Guardian Air Transport to supply our medical aircraft with blood products.
