Guardian Air Transport

Guardian Air has state of the art aircraft

Guardian Air is recognized as a leader in the region, with state-of-the-art avionics; a fleet of ten Bell 407 helicopters and one Pilatus PC 12 fixed wing aircraft.

Our fleet is owned by Guardian Air but the partner of choice for providing pilots and mechanics is Metro Aviation. Metro Aviation pilots and mechanics are the best in the business. Many have military training and experience and all have no fewer than 2,000 hours of total flight experience, with 2,500 hours preferred. Our fleet is in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration 14 CFR Part 135 requirements for fixed wing and helicopter emergency medical services.

Our helicopters operate under visual flight rules, or VFR, but in the event of bad weather conditions when our helicopters cannot fly, our Pilatus can operate under instrument flight rules, or IFR.  This means it can often fly when the helicopters cannot. However, on busy nights when the Pilatus is already out on a transport, a critical patient needs to be taken to a higher level of care and weather does not permit VFR operations, Guardian Air contracts with local ground ambulances. No matter the scenario, Guardian Air makes safety our first priority by using a detailed and tailored ground safety matrix prior to any of these transports.
