  • Employee Health screening
  • Background check
  • On-campus training
Which NAH programs can I volunteer for?

Volunteer at our healthcare facilities in Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Sedona and Camp Verde.

What is the time commitment expected of volunteers?

We respect your time. Before you apply, we want you to know what to expect. This will help you decide if volunteering fits your schedule.

Our volunteers complete at least one shift each week. Each shift is two to four hours long. Volunteers complete at least six months of service, totaling at least 50 hours.

Am I required to be vaccinated?

During your onboarding process, you will be asked about the following vaccines:

  • Hepatitis B vaccine
  • COVID vaccine (recommended, not required)
  • Flu shot (The flu vaccine is required during flu season. If you decline the vaccine, you must wear a mask during flu season.)
  • MMR (proof of 2 doses)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 doses)
  • TB skin tests (two tests required) or a blood draw to rule out TB
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
Can I volunteer if I am under 18 years of age?

We do have a teen volunteer program for individuals 16-17 years of age. Teenage volunteers must complete the “Teen Volunteer Application Form.” The list of volunteer roles specifies which areas are open to teen volunteers and which require the volunteer to be 18 or older.

Who can I contact to discuss volunteer opportunities?

Most information regarding available volunteer roles is on our website. We do not place individuals on a waiting list as you should check periodically for new openings. Other questions can be sent to [email protected].

After I finish onboarding, am I guaranteed my first-choice volunteer role?

Only complete the application if your area of preference has openings. We will communicate with you before onboarding to work on your schedule.

Can I volunteer if I live here part-time?

Yes. We will assist you with planning your schedule once your application is received. Please note, volunteer shifts will not be held for anyone taking a leave of absence greater than one month.

Do I need an email address?

A valid email address is required as important information is sent through email.

I am unable to stand for long periods. Do all the volunteer positions involve standing?

Accommodations are available for a wide range of volunteer positions. Contact Volunteer Services to discuss specific needs.

I am a college student, can I get volunteer hours?

Yes. Many of our volunteers, including students, help in clinical areas. This can be a great way to support our team, meet patients and learn what it’s like to work in a hospital.

Students who can complete 50 hours of service may apply. We cannot accept students who apply late in the semester or who need less than 50 hours of volunteer hours.

Can I shadow clinicians?

Volunteer Services does not manage shadowing opportunities. You can contact our HR department to set up shadowing roles by emailing [email protected].
