Darius Moezzi, MD, FAANA 

Bio

Darius Moezzi, MD, FAANA, serves as an at-large member of Flagstaff Medical Center’s Medical Executive Committee. As a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with an additional board certification in sports medicine, Dr. Moezzi serves as Senior Partner and President of Flagstaff Bone & Joint. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. 

Dr. Moezzi has practiced orthopedic medicine in Flagstaff since 2004, bringing extensive experience that spans northern Arizona to the international stage. Since the early 2000s, he has been the Team Physician for Coconino High School and a Physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team. He serves as an instructor for various shoulder courses, including his current role as an Associate Master Shoulder Instructor at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Chicago. He is also on the board of the Journal of Arthroscopy, where he once served as the Associate Editor. In 2015, he was one of only four physicians to be selected as a traveling fellow for the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology. In this role, he visited orthopedic programs and met surgeons across the country to advance his surgical expertise and bring valuable insights back to northern Arizona. 

Dr. Moezzi earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada in Reno. He completed his orthopedic training at Tufts Medical Center in Boston before completing an arthroscopy and sports medicine fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He also studied German and Eastern European history at the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.
