Bio

Coral Evans, PhD, MBA, was elected to the Northern Arizona Healthcare Board of Directors in 2025 and resides in Flagstaff.

Her contributions to our local community are extensive. She currently serves as northern Arizona director for U.S. Senator Mark Kelly, acting as a liaison between the senator and regional organizations, government agencies and constituents. She is also executive director of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association of Flagstaff, Inc., where she leads strategic planning to support the community’s most vulnerable members. She is deeply committed to uplifting diverse populations affected by the systemic impacts of poverty.

Coral is a former mayor of Flagstaff. She was elected mayor in 2016 and 2018. Additionally, she served two terms on the Flagstaff City Council. Prior to her work in local government, she spent seven years as vice president of mission services at Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona, where she supported children and adults and helped connect individuals with disabilities to employment opportunities.

In addition to her civic engagement, Coral owns a small business, Destiney’s Creations, and authored the book “A Conversation with Alma.” In 2022, the Arizona Historical Society, in partnership with the nonprofit 48 Arizona Women, named Coral to its “48 Most Intriguing Women of Arizona” list. In 2018, Arizona Business Magazine recognized her as one of the state’s “Most Influential Women in Business.”

Coral earned her doctoral degree in sustainability education from Prescott College. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business management, both from the University of Phoenix.
