Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) Office of Philanthropy is partnering with local community member, Larry Tebelak and his partner Barb Bacon, to host the inaugural Dawn Carmel Tebelak Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will raise funds that benefit NAH’s Verde Valley Medical Center Intensive Care Unit nurses. It will take place on October 20, 2022, at 9 a.m. at the Sedona Golf Resort, located at 35 Ridge Trail Drive in Sedona. A limited number of golf foursomes remain for those who wish to participate in the tournament.
Sedona resident and former PGA pro, Larry Tebelak, lost his beloved daughter Dawn Carmel to Crohn’s and Colitis disease on September 10, 2021. It is the gratitude that Tebelak and his family feel toward NAH for the compassionate care and kindness Dawn experienced during her final days that led Tebelak to establish an endowment in her memory. The fund will support the Verde Valley Medical Center Intensive Care Unit’s nursing team and, to date, more than $27,000 has been raised. The Tebelak family is hoping to grow this amount in honor of the caregivers who provided Dawn such loving care. 100% of the net proceeds from the golf tournament will go directly to the endowment.
“It is a privilege to partner with Larry Tebelak and his family to honor his daughter and to support the outstanding nurses at Verde Valley Medical Center, whose work makes a positive difference in the lives of individuals in the local community every day,” said NAH’s Chief Philanthropy Officer Larry Kushner.
The amateur foursomes playing in the tournament will have one PGA professional added to their team. The tournament will include breakfast items and lunch.
