Northern Arizona Healthcare Announces Larry Kushner as New Chief Philanthropy Officer

Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced today Larry Kushner will take on the leadership role of Chief Philanthropy Officer beginning in mid-May.

In his role, Kushner will oversee NAH’s new nonprofit Office of Philanthropy, including leading NAH efforts to raise the funding and donations needed to help enhance and expand healthcare services for the northern Arizona community. These strategic initiatives will include developing a vision for a future health and wellness village in Flagstaff, developing NAH’s cancer and integrative medicine center, and investing in our healthcare heroes for NAH’s full spectrum of services.

“NAH is committed to providing high-quality care now and in the future,” said Flo Spyrow, NAH president and CEO. “Larry will lead efforts to secure the funding needed to help us meet the growing needs of our community and plan for the next generation of healthcare.”

Kushner brings significant development experience to this new leadership role at NAH. He joins NAH after serving as associate vice president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore Office of Philanthropy where he created multiple, sustainable partnerships with community stakeholders and helped secure multimillion-dollar donations to fund key university programs and initiatives. Prior to this, Kushner also held leadership roles at the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation.

“I am excited to join NAH and lead the new Office of Philanthropy. I’m looking forward to building and sustaining strong relationships throughout northern Arizona. Philanthropy is the rising tide that lifts all boats; it speaks to who we are as a society. Quality, first-rate health care is a necessity, and I look forward to ensuring NAH achieves it development goals to help in this vision,” said Kushner.
