NAH welcomes new psychiatrist to Flagstaff Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services

Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Alyssa Norman, MD, has joined Flagstaff Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services as a new psychiatrist in Flagstaff. Dr. Norman treats in-patient psychiatric conditions, which include depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders and more. 

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Norman to NAH’s Behavioral Health Services in Flagstaff, adding a new provider in behavioral health helps us serve the community in this important area of health care,” said Dave Cheney, CEO of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “We know that mental health is an important issue in Flagstaff, and Dr. Norman is a trusted provider who will help the community with her dedication and commitment to care.” 

Dr. Norman believes that she can provide the best level of care during her one-on-one time with her patients where she can collaborate on individualized care options. She develops customized treatment plans based on a collective consensus between her patients and their families.  

Dr. Norman earned her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York and completed her residency in general psychiatry at the University at Buffalo. She gained experience working in various treatment settings, including a variety of specialty inpatient units, multiple outpatient clinics and one of the busiest psychiatric emergency rooms in New York State. She is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  

NAH’s Behavioral Health Services offers a full range of hospital-based inpatient and outpatient services for adolescents, adults and seniors.
