Each day, we see colleagues doing amazing things that reflect our Northern Arizona Healthcare Values. Colleagues doing outstanding work are nominated for the L.O.V., or “Living Our Values,” Award. A committee of NAH colleagues from across the system reviews all nominations to select monthly honorees and quarterly champions.
An NAH committee reviews all nominations and selects monthly honorees. At the end of each fiscal quarter, two quarterly L.O.V. champions are selected from among the monthly honorees and honored at a special celebration at each hospital campus. One annual ambassador is chosen from these quarterly champions.
The third annual L.O.V. event was held on Friday, Sept. 27, at Alcantara Vineyards in Cottonwood. The event honored all nominees and champions from the past year and announced Alba Bryan, EntireCare office coordinator and former Code Bean barista, as this year’s annual L.O.V. ambassador.
Prior to joining EntireCare, colleagues and patients knew Alba from Code Bean, the coffee shop located inside NAH’s Verde Valley Medical Center. Alba made it her purpose each and every day to touch each individual who comes into the shop in a personal way. She was kind and compassionate with our patients and visitors, going out of her way to find items they needed or help them find their way throughout our campus. She always shared a positive message or thank you. She knew all the regulars by name and could tell you what beverage they would likely be ordering. In her role, she made each colleague feel special even if just for a moment in time. Even when the orders were stacked and she was the only person working, Alba took the time to say hello to each person entering the café and strived to make sure no one was waiting too long. When training other team members, she was patient, detailed and thorough. In both her previous and current roles, Alba is intentional and purposeful in all her interactions, and is highly valued by patients, visitors and colleagues alike.
