Meet the latest L.O.V. honoree

Each day, we see colleagues doing amazing things that reflect our Northern Arizona Healthcare Values. Colleagues doing outstanding work are nominated for the L.O.V., or “Living Our Values,” Award. A committee of NAH colleagues from across the system reviews all nominations to select monthly honorees and quarterly champions.

The following L.O.V. honorees distinguished herself by living NAH Values, specifically, Show compassion. Thanks and congratulations!

Sophie Contreras, RN

Value: Do amazing work!

Every new baby’s first journey depends on his or her car seat. Recently, Sophie went above and beyond to find a way to get a Special Care Nursery patient’s car seat brought up from a Phoenix hospital when it was accidentally left behind after the baby’s transfer. This family had no way to get to Phoenix to pick up the car seat and no extra funds to buy a new one, so Sophie coordinated with the Phoenix hospital and her own family to pick up the car seat and have it delivered to Flagstaff Medical Center. The baby’s family was relieved and thrilled that they didn’t have to worry about how to obtain this essential item for their little one. Sophie’s outstanding compassion, determination and dedication truly made an impact for this patient and his parents as they began their first adventures together.
