NAH introduces new Verde Valley vice president and administrator, Rick Gray, MHA

Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced Rick Gray, MHA, has joined the organization to serve as its vice president and administrator of Verde Valley area services for NAH. 

In this new role, Gray will be the primary onsite leader for the clinical operations of Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC) and NAH Verde-area clinical services. In addition to his responsibilities for these locations, Gray will be responsible for the Verde Valley Retail Pharmacy. 

Gray began in the position in last month and will work directly with colleagues, implementing best practices and forthcoming strategic goals; coaching leaders in the organization; and driving continuous quality, safety, and financial improvements at NAH. He will also work with Verde-area communities to be a liaison of local operations, continuing NAH’s relationship building. 

“I’m pleased to welcome Rick Gray to NAH, in this newly created position that will build on our commitment to bringing exceptional care to the Verde Valley community,” said Bo Cofield, chief operating officer of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “He brings over a decade of experience in hospital administration, where he has achieved success at multiple rural systems, and is dedicated to being a part of NAH’s mission and community relationship development work. He looks forward to building relationships with residents in Verde Valley,” Cofield added.  

Rick began his career in nuclear medicine and radiology and brings a deep understanding of clinical operations and hospital infrastructure. He earned his master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, and a second bachelor’s degree in psychology from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
