This course is designed for those who wish to teach the following American Heart Association (AHA) courses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR/AED, and/or Heartsaver First Aid. Prior to the course, candidates will be given access to the required AHA On-line Essentials Course upon acceptance. During the two-day course, Training Center Faculty will present the science of CPR and AED, equipment maintenance and decontamination, as well as strategies for teaching and conducting a course. Each candidate will have the opportunity to practice teaching a skill and a topic to fellow candidates.
Prerequisite
Interested candidates must be current on their AHA BLS Provider certification. Candidates must also have prior approval from the Northern Arizona Healthcare AHA Training Center Coordinator to register for the class. All candidates accepted into this course are expected to know the student manual very well, and be able to perform BLS skills proficiently on arrival to the course.
Credits
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 10612 for 10.5 CE credit hours.
Dates and Times
Due to necessary class preparation, registration for this course will close 2 weeks prior to the class date.
Day 1 – 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Day 2 – 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Flagstaff Medical Center:

Verde Valley Medical Center:
- May 25 – May 26, 2023
Location
At Flagstaff Medical Center the courses will be held in the Northern Arizona Healthcare Training Center, located at the west end of the Fort Valley Shopping center, 1000 N. Humphreys, Suite 241-242.
In Cottonwood, the courses will be held in the Education Center located in the Courtyard Plaza on the east side of the Verde Valley Medical Center, 300 S. Willard St., Ste 201.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds are available less a $145.00 administration fee. No refund is issued if cancellation occurs within five days of the course.
