Our program at a glance

Verde Valley Medical Center is located in the beautiful rural setting of Cottonwood, Arizona.  Our three-year Internal Medicine Residency program, the result of a partnership between VVMC and Midwestern University, is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Our program began in 2010 with four residents.  With accreditation by the ACGME, we expanded from 12 residents (four per year) to 15 residents (five per year).  The small size of the program, the camaraderie of the residents and the one-on-one time with supervising physicians make this a very attractive option to many candidates.

VVMC offers exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and pathologies.  Our weekly continuity clinics, electives and opportunities to perform research prepare residents to embark on successful, diverse career paths.  Above all, our focus is to give each resident an excellent, in-depth educational experience.

Our residents have a 100 percent pass rate on the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, or AOBIM, Board certification examination.
