Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Melissa Scott, FNP, has joined the NAH Medical Group (NAHMG) as a new provider at the Cottonwood primary care office. She is accepting patients now. NAHMG provides a multidisciplinary primary care approach involving physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners to help families and the community stay healthy.
“We are pleased to welcome Melissa to the team at our Cottonwood primary care practice,” said NAHMG President Pasquale Bernardi, MD. “We know that Melissa shares NAH’s commitment to delivering high-quality care to every patient, every time. Scott, who has over ten years of experience in health care, specializes in family medicine. She believes that providing high-quality health care means working with the patient as a team. She feels is that it is important to listen to each patient so they may speak without interruption, and come up with a plan that works best for the patient. She wants her patients to leave their appointments with a clear understanding of their treatment, as she knows how beneficial it is for a person to have control over their health.
Scott earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Maryville University in St. Louis and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners – Family Practice, a certification that prepared her to care for patients of any age throughout their lifespan.
