It’s time to run or walk to benefit Northern Arizona Healthcare’s (NAH) Children’s Health Center (CHC). The 48th annual Machine Solutions Run & Walk race is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff. The event, brought to the community by Title Sponsor Machine Solutions, a Flagstaff-based medical device production equipment manufacturer, includes a 10K, 5K or 2K option. A virtual race will also be available for those who are not able to attend in person.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Machine Solutions again to host the Run & Walk for Kids, which will benefit so many children in the local community,” said NAH’s Chief Philanthropy Officer Larry Kushner. “We are so grateful for the generosity from our wonderful community partners who are inspired to donate. We have an important responsibility to take care of our local youth, and the money we raise will allow us to offer even more elevated care at the CHC,” Kushner added.
Race day kicks off at 7:50 a.m. with the popular 100-yard Kid’s Dash, followed by distances of 10K, 5K and 2K. Races will conclude by 11 a.m. Participants also may choose to join virtually by registering online and completing the race course on their own at any time between July 18 and Aug. 1, and then logging their results online. Registration fees vary depending on the type of run.
All proceeds support local children and their families at the CHC, including necessary therapy and specialty equipment needs as well as the Children’s Rehabilitation Services, Inspire program, and the Safe Child Center child abuse examination clinic, among other pediatric sub-specialty clinics and therapies.
