Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

At the conclusion of this course, each participant will be able to demonstrate appropriate techniques in resuscitating the adult patient. A strong emphasis will be placed on appropriate dysrhythmia recognition and management. AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider is included with all ACLS classes. 
  1. Describe the principles of resuscitation. 
  2. Demonstrate the steps of resuscitation, including the use of a resuscitation bag and mask, chest compressions, and endotracheal intubation for the adult patient. 
  3. Describe the appropriate use and dosage of resuscitative medications. 
  4. Demonstrate the ability to recognize normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms.

Prerequisites

Those who desire to attend the one day renewal course must hold a current ACLS provider certification (expired less than three months). Participants must be healthcare providers whose daily occupations or volunteer activities demand proficiency in the knowledge and skills of ACLS and who are authorized to perform some or all of these functions. A basic EKG class is strongly recommended prior to taking ACLS for the first time.

Instructor Course - 7 hours / 4 RT CEUs
 
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 10612 for the CE contact hours as listed above.

Location

At Flagstaff Medical Center, the courses will be held in the Northern Arizona Healthcare Training Center, located at the west end of Fort Valley Shopping Center, 1000 N. Humphreys, Suite 241-242.

In Cottonwood, the courses will be held in the Education Center located in the Courtyard Plaza on the east side of the Verde Valley Medical Center, 269 S. Candy Lane.

Registration

Due to necessary class preparation, registration for this course will close 5 days prior to the class date for the Provider and Refresher courses and 2 weeks prior to the class date for the Instructor class.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds are available less a $50.00 administration fee for the Provider and Renewal courses and $75.00 for the Instructor course. No refund is issued if cancellation occurs within five business days of the course.
