Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced that Kelly Hosner, CNM, has joined Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC) in Cottonwood as a certified nurse-midwife.
“We are pleased to welcome Kelly Hosner as she joins the team at VVMC in Cottonwood,” said NAH Medical Group President Pasquale Bernardi, MD. “Kelly is a certified nurse-midwife who has worked in labor and delivery for many years. We are thrilled to introduce her to the Verde Valley community; the addition of her specialty skills will allow for more Verde Valley residents to stay close to home,” Dr. Bernardi added.
Hosner, who has over 30 years of health care experience, is a primary health care provider to women of all ages throughout their lives. Her focus is on obstetric and gynecologic services, as well as preconception, family planning, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and newborn care. She will also provide primary care such as conducting annual exams, writing prescriptions and offering basic nutrition counseling. She is passionate about providing health care to women and she knows there is a great need for a women’s health provider in the Verde Valley area. She looks forward to building relationships with members of the community.
Hosner earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky and an undergraduate degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She has board certifications in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP) and the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). An NRP certification prepares recipients to care for newborns at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for providers who care for newborns at the time of delivery.
NAH has prioritized recruiting new providers in northern Arizona and will continue to introduce additional providers as part of its commitment to providing the highest quality health care to patients and communities in northern Arizona.
