NAH announces new Chief Legal Counsel

Kyle Lathrop, Chief Legal Council Officer

Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced Kyle Lathrop has joined the organization to serve as chief legal officer.

In this role, Lathrop will oversee all of NAH’s legal matters, including internal and outside counsel working on active cases, as well as provide leadership for the Risk Management and Government Affairs teams.

He previously served in a leadership position at W. L. Gore & Associates, a global materials science company, where he provided legal, regulatory and compliance support for the Medical Products Division. In that role, he oversaw legal projects related to the Gore medical device businesses in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Germany and Scotland.

“I’m so pleased to welcome Kyle Lathrop to our Legal Department at NAH,” said Dave Cheney, chief executive officer of Northern Arizona Healthcare. “He has extensive experience in medical and regulatory legal fields, and brings his love of northern Arizona as a Flagstaff resident. We are always so excited when we have a new colleague join Team NAH, and Kyle has already shown his dedication to NAH’s values, including building community,” Cheney added.

Lathrop earned a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Arkansas School of Law after completing a Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of Iowa College of Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and business from the University of Wyoming.

With Lathrop’s addition, former Chief Legal Counsel Colleen Maring is able to fully focus on her role as Chief People Officer, overseeing NAH’s departments of Education, Employee Health, Total Rewards, Human Resources, Recruiting, Communications and Community Relations.
