Ways to give

There are many ways to support Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission of Improving health, healing people. Giving to the Office of Philanthropy is a great way to make a personal and impactful difference in the communities we serve.

Whether you make a one-time donation, plan a legacy gift, or choose another way to contribute, every gift is a meaningful way to care for our patients, colleagues and neighbors.

Our priorities

Every donor’s reason for giving is different. Some choose to support a specific program, while others prefer to give where the need is greatest.

Gifts to our areas of greatest need support our services across Flagstaff and the Verde Valley, helping us respond quickly to emerging priorities and invest in essential services for patients, care teams and the communities we serve.

We are also focused on key priority initiatives, including the new comprehensive cancer center coming to Cottonwood and efforts to strengthen mental health services for first responders.

Choose a giving option that works best for you

Every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact. 100% of your donation supports the area you choose. You can make an online monetary donation or give in other ways.

Other ways to give

Corporate partnership

Partnering with Northern Arizona Healthcare creates opportunities to support your community while building meaningful connections with your employees, customers and vendors.

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

If you have a donor-advised fund, you can recommend a grant to support Northern Arizona Healthcare without affecting your personal income.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are at least 72 years old, making a charitable distribution allows you to donate up to $100,000 annually from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) directly to qualified charities like Northern Arizona Healthcare. If applicable, this can satisfy your required minimum distribution and exclude the amount donated from taxable income.

  • If you were born before 1952, the required minimum distribution starts at 72 years old.
  • If you were born between 1951 and 1959, the required minimum distribution starts at 73 years old.
  • If you were born in 1960 or later, the required minimum distribution starts at 75 years old.
Stock gifts

Donating stocks or mutual funds is a tax-efficient way to give. You may receive a deduction for the full market value and avoid capital gains tax.

One example is a stock transfer donation, which is the direct transfer of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds) from a donor’s brokerage account to a qualified non-profit organization. By avoiding selling the stock first, donors bypass capital gains taxes while receiving a tax deduction for the full market value.

Are you ready to make a stock transfer donation? Please see the information below and notify Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Office of Philanthropy at [email protected] in advance so we can properly acknowledge your gift.

Bequests (planned giving)

Include Northern Arizona Healthcare in your will, trust, retirement plan or insurance policy to leave a lasting impact. This is the most popular option for planned giving.

Real estate and other assets

Gifts such as real estate, collectibles or privately held stock can provide tax benefits and remove the risk or hassle of selling the asset, all while supporting our mission. Real estate can be given outright, placed in a gift plan that provides the donor income, or given with the donor retaining lifetime rights to live in and use the property.

Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA)

Make a meaningful gift. In return, you will receive fixed income payments for life.
