Expertise and special interests
Dr. Pico specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics. As a primary care physician, he is specifically trained in disease prevention, counseling, patient education and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. His special interests include public health and disease prevention, healthy lifestyles and childhood obesity.
Education and certification
Dr. Pico holds a degree in exercise physiology from the University of Arizona. He received his medical education from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and School of Public Health in Minneapolis, where he completed a comprehensive combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Pico worked with the adult and pediatric populations at several affiliated hospitals in Phoenix, including Good Samaritan Medical Center, Carl T. Hayden Veterans Hospital, Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Dr. Pico is Board Certification certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
