Larry Gaul, MD, FACC, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and cardiologist with Northern Arizona Healthcare Medical Group. He is located in Flagstaff.
Philosophy
Dr. Gaul believes details and doing the right thing matter. Just doing tests for the sake of doing “something” is not something he favors.
Expertise and Special Interests
Dr. Gaul has special expertise related to sports cardiology as well as high altitude medicine. He has worked as a physician for the last five winter Olympic Games as well as researched stress management alongside U.S. Navy Fleet Surgical Teams.
Education and Certification
Dr. Gaul earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colo. and his bachelor’s degree in biology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine (now Penn State College of Medicine) in Hershey, Pa., and a residency in internal medicine at He has been practicing medicine since 1987.
Dr. Gaul is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
