Elaine Nissen, F.N.P.-C, is a graduate of the University of Phoenix, where she earned her master of science in nursing, and the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she earned both her bachelor of science in nursing and her family nurse practitioner-post master's certificate. She is licensed by the state of Arizona and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Elaine joined Family Health Providers in August 2010 after first being employeed by Verde Valley Medical Center since February 1998.
Since graduating as an R.N. in 1978, Elaine has worked in many areas of acute-care nursing including general medical and surgical, respiratory, oncology and renal, along with a number of years in critical care nursing including ICU, CCU, post-open heart, acute renal and renal transplant, and emergency medicine. Elaine worked as a nurse educator for 12 years doing general training/development, specialty care training, and instructed in acute response programs including Advanced Trauma Life Support for physicians and nurses, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and multiple paramedic training programs.
She is married with two sons and two grandsons. In her free time Elaine enjoys reading, hiking with her two dogs and taking summer boating trips to Apache Lake with her extended family.
