Anne Wakefield-Bittick, PT, DPT
Anne Wakefield-Bittick, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist with a clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy in the EntireCare Rehab & Sports Medicine Experts department at Verde Valley Medical Center.
Expertise and Special Interests
Anne works with a variety of physical therapy patients, including inpatients and those with chronic wounds. She also has a special interest in working with morbidly obese patients. When she was working on her doctorate degree, Anne offered a weight-resistance program to morbidly obese individuals to educate them on how to do weight training safely and successfully. She then evaluated and reported on the results. Her study confirmed that people with morbid obesity can and should utilize strength training. It is key for health, and if done under supervision, can be done without pain.
Education and Certifications
Ann has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She received a master’s degree in Physical Therapy, with honors, from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, and also completed her clinical doctorate of Physical Therapy at NAU.
