The NAH Lipid Clinic helps manage your lipid levels

Cardiovascular disease remains the number one cause of death in the U.S. for men and women.

Along with inflammation, the size and number of lipids – particles of cholesterol – in your bloodstream determine whether you will develop a stroke or heart attack. By improving your lipid levels and inflammation, you can reduce your chances of having heart disease and resulting cardiovascular event, such as a heart attack.

Led by board-certified lipidologist Ken Bescak, M.D., F.A.C.C., NAH’s Lipid Clinic helps manage and treat lipids. The Lipid Clinic uses advanced lipid testing and analyzes how lipid particles interact with inflammation markers, which allows for individualized lipid management treatments.

The clinic team works with patients to reduce lipids through comprehensive services, including:

  • Ordering and analyzing advanced lipid profiles.
  • Establishing individualized goals for managing cholesterol, triglycerides, diet, exercise and weight.
  • Monitoring and evaluating patients through follow-up blood work.
  • Screening family members for high cholesterol, and including them in sessions, when possible.
  • Teaching patients how to follow nutritious, heart-healthy diets, including new recipes and methods of food preparation; tips for dining away from home; and how to read and understand food labels.
