Powdered infant formulas have been recalled by the FDA and Abbott Nutrition

As a public service to our community, we want to call your attention to a product recall by the FDA and Abbott Nutrition of Similac, Alimentum, or EleCare powdered infant formulas due to possible Cronobacter and Salmonella contamination.

The FDA and Abbott Nutrition are advising consumers not to use the formula if:

  • the first two digits of the code are 22 through 37; and
  • the code on the container contains K8, SH or Z2; and
  • the expiration date is 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later.

For more information on the product recall, please visit the FDA website or Abbott Nutrition’s page on the Similac recall
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the products recalled by FDA and Abbott Nutrition, we encourage you to contact your pediatrician or healthcare provider.
