Northern Arizona Healthcare colleagues do truly amazing things that reflect NAH’s Mission, Vision and Values. NAH’s recognition program allows colleagues who do outstanding work to be nominated for the L.O.V., or “Living Our Values,” Award.

An NAH committee reviews all nominations and selects monthly finalists. At the end of each fiscal quarter, two quarterly L.O.V. champions are selected from among the monthly finalists and honored at a special celebration at each hospital campus. One annual ambassador is chosen from these quarterly champions.

The second annual L.O.V. event was held on Friday, Oct. 19, at Alcantara Vineyards in Cottonwood. The event honored all nominees and finalists from the past year and announced Nicole Nelson, lead inpatient therapist with EntireCare Rehab & Sports Medicine, as this year’s annual L.O.V. ambassador.

Nicole, who works at NAH’s Verde Valley Medical Center, began her career with NAH as a physical therapy student. She worked her way into a position as a rehab technician and eventually became a physical therapist after she graduated. Earlier this year, due to her hard work, dedication and leadership, Nicole was promoted to lead therapist at VVMC. In this role, Nicole has helped lead the way to excellent outcomes – her team earned very high employee engagement scores; achieved their Press Ganey, NAH’s patient satisfaction survey, goal; and exceeded the budget for fiscal year 2018. In addition, Nicole has expanded acute care services at VVMC, including increased emergency department coverage, fewer injuries, increased timeliness of patient evaluations and expanded speech and occupational therapy coverage. She has done this while continuing to work with students and converting them to permanent staff.

Thank you, Nicole, for your passion and enthusiasm.
