Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention

The class is open to anyone who needs to improve their coordination, flexibility and mobility and would like to reduce their risk of falling.  These classes are taught in conjunction with the Coconino County Health Department and Flagstaff Medical Center’s Trauma and Injury Prevention staff.

Many studies have shown Tai Chi as being one of the most effective approaches for preventing falls. An art embracing the mind, body and spirit, and originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. For many, it continues as a lifetime journey.
