Special Procedures Unit
The Special Procedures unit is
staffed by registered nurses who are highly trained and experienced.
Among staff, specialties include certification in gastroenterology. To
assure patients of the most efficient and caring environment, the nurses
are assisted by a Special Procedures technician.
The unit is equipped with the most current technology. This permits VVMC
the ability to offer a wide range of services in several categories,
giving physicians precise information for analysis and diagnosis.
The categories of procedures include:

Endoscopy (which includes Flexible
Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenos (EGD), Bronchoscopy,
Esophageal motility -
24-hour pH studies
and Endoscopic Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
-
IV Insertion lines, and numerous
other procedures, including biopsies and minor surgical procedures.
