Obstetrics and Family Services
Family services, including parent education and
social services, are an integral part of the Women and Infants’ Center.
The third floor of the center includes:
• Nineteen private rooms
• A Family Education room.
• The Birth Recorder office
• A well baby nursery
• Social workers and New Parent Support coordinator offices
• Sleep rooms for perinatal care providers
• An open-air courtyard
• The Breastfeeding Center
The new Women and Infants’ Center houses lobbies on each floor for
family and friends to wait and relax. The center is connected to the
main hospital on the second and third floors, with a drive-through to the
first floor entrance.
Flagstaff Medical Center is certified as a Level II Enhanced Perinatal
Center by the Arizona Perinatal Trust. It is staffed by an
interdisciplinary team including obstetricians, maternal fetal specialist, a neonatologist, a
pediatric cardiologist, registered nurses,
pediatric and family practice physicians, a certified lactation counselor,
a new parent support coordinator and care coordinators, a perinatal social
worker. This team
works together to provide high-quality healthcare with a caring, personal
touch, and a neuro-developmental follow-up clinic.
