Speech Therapy

Speech and language pathologists at Flagstaff Medical Center help people who have speech and language disorders. We evaluate and treat a variety of communication difficulties resulting from developmental delays, accidents and disease or illness.

These may include problems with:

  • Speech

  • Language

  • Voice

  • Swallowing

  • Cognition

Speech pathologists evaluate and treat people who are limited in cognition by helping them develop attention and memory skills, abstract reasoning and decision-making. Specialized care also is provided for the following disorders:

  • Traumatic brain injury

  • Stroke

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Parkinson’s syndrome

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

  • Head and neck disorders

  • Tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients
