The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona
According to the American Heart Association, an estimated 8.7 million American adults (one in three) have one or more types of cardiovascular disease. With the projected population growth (10 percent by the year 2010) of Northern and Central Arizona, the need for increased health services, including cardiovascular programs, is substantial.
In an effort to meet this growing medical need, Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) has expanded our progressive and comprehensive cardiovascular programs in Flagstaff and in the Verde Valley.
NAH cardiologists and surgeons now are available to care for patients and perform procedures at both facilities.
NAH is taking a regionalized approach to the delivery of cardiovascular services including:
- Diagnostic procedures including stress testing, imaging and ultrasound
- Interventional procedures including cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, stents, pacemaker insertion and treatment for peripheral vascular disease
- Cardiothoracic surgery including coronary artery bypass grafting, mitral valve repair and replacement, Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation
- Major thoracic and vascular surgical procedures
- Cardiovascular intensive care unit
- Four-stage cardiac rehabilitation program
