What We Do

Guardian Air provides critical care transports for adult, pediatric, neonatal, and maternal patients.  We also handle specialty transports such as balloon pump and bariatric patients.

Standard medical equipment:

  • Pulse Oximetry — monitors the oxygen level in the bloodstream
  • Volume and Pressure-cycled Ventilators — assists patients who are having difficulty breathing on their own
  • External and Temporary Pacemaker — provides a regular heart rhythm and rate when the heart is unable to do so on its own
  • IV pumps — used to deliver fluids and medications to the patient
  • Cardiac Monitor and Defibrillator — electrocardiogram that allows the medical crew to evaluate a patient’s heart rate and rhythm
  • Invasive Monitoring Capability — monitors critical physiological functions by means of a sophisticated arterial IV line
  • C-spine Immobilization Equipment — provides stabilization of the injured neck and back
  • Intra-aortic Balloon Pump — increases perfusion to heart muscle
  • Sager Traction Device — provides stabilization of femur fractures

Maternal capabilities:

  • In-flight fetal heart monitoring with printouts
  • Complete line of tocolytic medications
  • Preparation for in-flight delivery
  • Train high-risk obstetric team

Neonatal capabilities:

  • Temperature-Controlled Isolettes — incubators for premature infants
  • Transcutaneous Oxygen Readings — monitors oxygen and carbon dioxide in neonates, infants and small children
  • Umbilical Arterial Pressures — monitors arterial pressures for arterial blood gas analysis
