Part Time Benefits For Employees With 5 Years of Service
Part time benefit coverage is available for employees with 5 consecutive years of service and who hold a budgeted position of 24 to 31 hours per week. This was designed to remain benefit competitive with a focus toward employee retention. 

Here are some frequently asked questions:

  • If I had a break in service during the last 5 years, am I still eligible?  No. Employees who have had a break in service greater than 60 days within the last 5 years are not eligible; it must be 5 consecutive years.
  • Does this mean that I had to be in a part time position during the entire last 5 consecutive years to be eligible?  No.  All active status employees are recognized.  This includes FT, PT, relief and per diem. 
  • For what benefits am I eligible to enroll?  Employees meeting the above criteria will be eligible to enroll in PPO A for medical, high or low dental plan, and flexible spending accounts.
  • Do I have to share in the cost of benefits?  Yes.  Part time employees will be required to pay 40% of the premiums; cost will vary depending upon the selected election.

Part Time Benefits For Employees Age 55 With 10 Years of Service
To be eligible, an employee must be age 55, have 10 years of service, and hold a budgeted position of 20 to 31 hours per week.  This benefit was designed for employees entering or nearing retirement who desire a transition into an available part time position. 

Here are some frequently asked questions:

  • If I had a break in service, am I still eligible?  No. Employees who have had a break in service greater than 60 days within the last 10 years are not eligible.
  • For what benefits am I eligible to enroll?  Employees meeting the above criteria will be eligible to enroll in the full benefit package – medical, dental, vision, life, LTD and flexible spending/health saving accounts.
  • Do I have to share in the cost of benefits?  Yes. Employee costs for this program mirror that of full time eligible employees.
